The Diva Story There come in life, those moments, the ones that change everything. As if illuminated by a brilliant light, we see clearly for a moment, our true path. Meeting Diva was one of these moments. The sky was falling, not literally, but, in Victoria , our rainfall happens to be one of the highest in Canada . It was a day that could only be described as disgusting. Good thing Diva was as hairy as a bear. 4-year old Diva and I trudged around the ring with limited steering and the impulsion of a bucket of tar. Shortly after, I left town for a weekend of contemplation and education. Although purchasing a horse was the farthest thing from my mind, Diva kept marching her way in, just like the alpha mare she is. It was quite obvious that there was something a little different about this horse and that perhaps I was in love. Diva was born somewhere on Vancouver Island , to a Percheron and a Morgan, of mysterious origins and questionable breeding. She stands a proud 16hh and is built like a brick shit-house, pardon my language. Rescued from the auctions in Vancouver at the age of 3, Diva has always proved herself absolutely capable of completely exceeding everyone's expectations. Take for example, my father, who quite willingly lent me the money to but my first horse, being Diva, despite an intense fear of horses. I figure someone had to be pulling the strings on that one. Perhaps it's just because she's so cute, with huge brown eyes, big black bushy mane, and boxy legs which cause her to resemble a very large pony. Or perhaps it's her depth, the way she seems to reach inside and find those very things that you had wished to hide away forever, and brings them out into the light very gently but firmly, saying “It's about time to deal with this”. Maybe the way she brings a different part of herself to the table with each person she chooses to help, the mother, the child, the crone, the teacher and finally the student. She is a goddess, there is no doubt. Together, we work to bring awareness to the power of the horse-human partnership, the pure potential for learning and growth. And everyday with Diva I ask myself, “How lucky am I?” Please read on for Diva's first communication as received by Suzanne Seaman, Victoria-based animal communicator (contact information in links page) Diva Communication #1“Hello, I have been waiting for you. Yes, I knew you were coming. What I need to say is this – that I am loved and I am respected and in turn, I love and respect my person. She knows what I need. She understands my heart and I understand hers. I am happy to do this. I am happy that it is my turn. I need to tell you that I have no pain in my body. I have had pain in the past, but I do not now. I need to tell you that I am interested in being bred. I do want that. I would like to experience that. (It will happen Diva). Oh, I would like that! I came into this body in order to teach. I came in to teach the lesson of co-operation between the species. In other words, it is an interspecies joining together. I wanted to join together with a person who would meet me half-way – and I did. I wanted to do work of this nature, and I am doing it. This makes me happy. I want to tell you that I am doing work for which I am well-prepared. I am in the healing line of work and so is my woman friend. We did come into each other's lives in order to work together. I will tell you what we planned to do together before we came into this plane. We chose to develop an affinity of extraordinary closeness, we chose this in order to teach others about what is possible between friends using different types of bodies. My woman friend and I intend to become light workers by modeling what is possible. This is our healing work and what we offer to the planet. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my woman friend for her willingness to remember our plans and remember our mission. How I love her for that. And I need to say this – that she will go on and bring her inter-species communication up to the conscious level. She and I will develop this and it will be wonderful. Can I tell you that my goal for this life is to grow past all limitations and this is the goal that my woman friend has for herself. Thank you for linking with me.” |
